Ready Clarence Valley

September 19, 2026 10:00 AM

Be Ready. Get Involved. Know Your Community.

What actually happens when an emergency hits the Clarence Valley?

Who turns up? What do they do? And what can you do now to make sure your household, family or business is better prepared when things go sideways?

Ready Clarence Valley brings the people, organisations and services who respond, recover and help our communities get back on their feet together at Maclean Showground for one big, hands-on community day.

See Emergency Services in Action

Come along and meet the people behind the uniforms, see emergency services in action and discover how our local emergency and community organisations work together when the Clarence Valley needs them most.

Throughout the day, there will be:

  • Emergency service displays and demonstrations
  • Opportunities to meet local response crews and organisations
  • Practical information about preparing for floods, fires, storms and other emergencies
  • Workshops and presentations
  • Hands-on activities and demonstrations
  • Information about volunteering and getting involved in your community
  • Local businesses and organisations showcasing what they can offer
  • Food trucks and activities for the whole family

It's About More Than Emergency Preparedness

This isn't about sitting through lectures on disaster preparedness.

It's about seeing how it all works, asking questions, meeting the people behind the uniforms and learning practical things you can actually use at home or in your business.

You'll have the chance to discover what you can do before an emergency happens, how different organisations respond when an incident occurs and how communities come together during recovery.

And if you've ever thought about volunteering, this is your chance to meet local organisations looking for new members and find out how you can get involved.

You might even leave as the Clarence Valley's newest emergency or community service volunteer.

Bring the Family

There's plenty to see and do throughout the day, so bring the whole family along.

Explore the displays, watch demonstrations, take part in activities, ask questions, grab something from the food trucks and discover how you can help make your household, business and community more prepared.
